Camden County College's Information Literacy Program

LEAPS is designed to teach students research skills that compliment a professor's literacy curriculum while supporting the student's academic outcome. During the session the student will learn research and information evaluation skills, how to access this information as well as an introduction to the tools, materials and services offered by the library.

Virtual Session

  • Select type of session - live video or Canvas course
  • Your contact information

TYPES OF VIRTUAL SESSIONS

  • Live session via Zoom
  • Canvas Course is asynchronous with short video instruction

Virtual sessions will require registration. Registration instructions will be provided by the library for you to distribute to your students.

LIVE VIDEO

  • Students will register and attend a live Zoom session
  • Session will be taught similar to in-person sessions
  • Can set up multiple dates and times for students to attend
  • Will need at least 10 days to coordinate session
  • Attendance will be provided

CANVAS COURSE

  • Students will register with the library for free Canvas course
  • Canvas course will have required assignments of short videos
  • Course will be open all semester for students to refer back to videos
  • Professor will determine how long students will have to complete assignment
  • Pop-up questions will be included in video so there is a grading option
  • Will need at least 2 weeks to coordinate session
  • Attendance will be provided

Library Information for Camden Campus

All CCC students, including those taking classes on the Camden Campus, have access to the CCC Library on the Blackwood Campus as well as the Camden County College print and eResources collections with an active CCC Library Card.

In addition, as part of a cooperative agreement, students, faculty, and staff at the Camden County College, Camden City Campus have access to the Paul Robeson Library, Rutgers University, Camden.

The Robeson Library provides the CCC Camden Campus Community with on-site access to a wide variety of print and electronic resources & services.

  • LibGuide will be developed to assist students through research process
  • Students will be provided research skills to complete their assignments
  • Librarian will work with professor to determine the best information to include in the LEAPS session
  • Appropriate use of sources (based the professor's specific assignment requirements) will be discussed
  • Citation instruction (based on the style required for assignment) will be included
  • Session can be general information literacy or designed for a specific assignment
