Plagiarism & Academic Integrity at Rutgers University This engaging interactive site from Rutgers University’s Scholarly Research Communication Center is a good starting point for a discussion about plagiarism. The examples refer to resources available at Rutgers but the concepts can be transferred to CCC.
 

Plagiarism Web Sites

  • Avoiding Plagiarism: This site, developed by the Purdue University Online Writing Lab, provides a detailed handout for students and includes a practice exercise.

  • Cheating 101: Paper Mills and You: Provides faculty with an overview of Internet Paper Mills: the current state of Internet Paper Mills, locating Paper Mills, detecting plagiarized papers, tracking down suspicious papers, and combating plagiarism.

  • CQ Researcher: Combating Plagiarism This 24-page report from CQ Press and Congressional Quarterly is an excellent overview of the topic and includes a discussion of the pros and cons of using commercial services to combat plagiarism.

  • Plagiarism: From the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, this web site is divided into sections covering Published Articles, Copyright & Intellectual Freedom, "For Instructors," "For Students," Plagiarism Case Studies, Plagiarism Detection Tools, and more.
